Fun, Big Fun...

I have so flipping much to organise, I'm always so darn tired, and I hate it. I do stupid stuff at the best of times, but when I'm constantly tired it's even worse. Grrrrrr, so much to organise. Why does going overseas for an extended period have to be such a difficult thing to organise. I don't even do half the organising, that's left in the agency's hands. Maybe that's the problem.

I can't believe I have less than a month left in Brisbane. It's so scary. I will miss you all so much, even if half of you don't miss me. It's so exciting too. I get to do all this fun stuff, but I'll have a whole stack of responsibility. Oh well. Then while I'm over there I'll have think about what I'm doing when I get back. Part of doing the Au Pair thing was to buy some time so I can decide what I want to do, but my time is being spent, and before long I will have to decide.

Anyways, I need to make a list of things I should do while I am actually overseas enjoying the land that seems to keep a firm political grip on the rest of the world. What do you think I should do?

Remember, it is always better to look good than to ski good

Had a great weekend in Sydney. I think life will be a whole lot more interesting and amusing if I just give you snipits of conversations that occurred over the weekend. You'll get the idea.

US Consulate man: Have you ever committed a crime or been arrested?

Ben: That clock is a triangle.
Tiph: What you mean is that clock is in the shape of a triangle. It cannot be both a clock and a triangle at the same time.
Ben: No, that clock is a triangle.

*Tiph's Heather demonstrates that 4 wheel driving is possible in the city*

Rosie: That sounds like Ben, does someone want to let him in?
Tiph: Why would we want to do a silly thing like that?

Josh: Want to hear the tune I made up on my microscopic harmonica? (for the gazillionth time)

Troy: Where did you come from?
Tiph: Brisbane.

Tiph's Heather: Who's Michael on the phone with?
Michael: (to Tiph's Heather) Ryan.
Tiph: Tell Ryan he's a bum for not being here while I'm hear.
Michael: (to phone) Tiph says she loves you.
Ben: (to Michael's phone) Passionately.

Refalo: When you throw the dart, it looks like a drunk ballerina.

That, and many other exciting things occurred. The Consulate accepted everything I said and will be issuing my visa shortly (suckers!!). They also only fingerprinted my index fingers, so if I plan to break in anywhere I just have to make sure I don't touch anything with my index fingers. Only 5 weeks left now. Getting closer!!

How did the Small Fry get the french fry?

Let the record show that today, at Wellington Point, whilst playing a very intense game of football, I snapped Pat, who is about twice my size. Granted I didn't do it alone, but as soon as I came along and took him out at the knees, he went down. That's my claim to fame for a week. He still gave me a lift back to VACC, so we're still cool.

6 weeks until I leave Brisbane, 9 until I leave the country. It's getting closer, and there's still so much to be done! Next week is the visa interview, as in this time next week I will have had the interview and will be partying hard (not) in Sydney, with my buddies whom I love.

You are all welcome to voice your opinions on the new look of the blog (Holly, stars didn't let anyone comment). Also, what does everyone think of Sean@'s idea of me joining a female rugby team?

Rule 26: Do not use a suitcase full of cotton

I've done an awful lot of filling in forms this week. It has been somewhat tedious. On Wednesday the US Consulate decided they no longer accept handwriting on your forms, so you have to fill them out online and print them. This causes a problem for me, because I don't relate to things on the screen real well when it comes to filling in the blanks. I'm also a little more careless with my spelling because I'm used to word picking up the mistakes. This means I have spent the last two and a half days filling in a total of two forms. They're done now.

Some of the instruction can be awfully confusing, and the majority are seemingly useless. For instance: Do not fold your form once printed. Prior to this online filling in regulation, the forms were mailed to you, and were folded. Why all of a sudden does it make a difference whether the forms have a crease in them or not?

Regardless, the forms are now filled in and my visa interview is in two weeks. Here's hoping I don't say something that makes me sound like a terrorist.
