"It's amazing, it's incredible, he's just like NEW!"

I got new shoes today. They're rather like my old shoes, but brand new. This means they're that blinding white colour. The laces match at the moment, but I'll fix that shortly.

I also got sort of promoted at work too. In 2 weeks I'm getting trained to work ont he floor. I could be selling you people stuff before you know it. I'm looking forward to it. That means more hours and that means more monies, and that means more to save to go to America. IT's funnyt he way things work like that, isn't it?

Well that's about all I've got time for. I will catch you cool type people sometime soon!

Tut Tut, it looks like rain...

I own a Nanny Umbrella now. It is a billion times cooler than the one Mary Poppins had. It has stars (what were you expecting, really people?). I will post a picture soon. Too bad it's going to be a while before it gets christened in the rain.

Interfering With the Learning of Others...

An update on the USA: I have recieved an acceptance pack and my application will be in Boston this week (if the mail isn't too slow). I have also recieved my passport and I am under a fortnight away from getting my driver's licence (but no one is to know the date!!). The next hurdle is affording to get there. In all honesty, it's going to take a miracle to get there, but I know God wants me to go and He's in the business of miracles, so I'd appreciate your prayers. Plus, if you know of anywhere hiring short term, part - time I'd love to hear about it.

I was thinking about school today. I haven't been to school in a long time. It's getting close to a year. It's funny how while you're in school it feels like it takes forever to get out, and once you're out you feel like you weren't there very long at all. I don't know why. It's odd. I'm not entirely sure where I was taking this thought, so I'll leave it here.

So, tell me about ... anything you like.

2nd of October

It's official folks! As of 4:50pm yesterday afternoon (Friday the 11th of August), I was accepted onto the Cultural Care Au Pair program and my application is being sent to Boston. I should be hearing from prospective families in a few weeks. I'M GOING TO AMERICA PEOPLES!! (Ryyarn: Oooooooooooh America! The land of opportunity!).

I just want to say a HUGE thanks to everyone who has helped me along so far, i.e. all those people who thought it was a great idea so they could get imported American stuff, and everyone who filled in a reference for me.

I sort of have a bit of a list of stuff I want to do before I leave, so your job is to add to it. It can be a bit out there, but still needs to be acheivable. Some stuff I have already, just to give you an idea:

Go to a real beach here in Australia (their beaches aren't much fun)
Hug everyone
Do the "We love Jesus, how about you?" chant at the Garden City Bus Station (I need help for this one!!)
Go Sombrero bowling with Lana
Have a Veggietales sing along

I need your ideas guys.

Scheduled outrage at 4:00 PM

I just read an alert on blogger that says: Scheduled outage at 4:00PM PDT. Thanks to my superior knack for finding humour in ridiculous places, I thought it said "outrage" not "outage". I thought that was amusing because I found it very courteous of the blogger people to let us know that they had scheduled their outrage, then I read it again and realised what it really said and I laughed at my stupidity.

Anyways, I didn't get a weekly update in on time because a) I have a little too much inspiration, and I need to pick just one topic to blog about, as apposed to a billion and eight; b) our computer got a virus on Tuesday and I haven't had computer access until yesterday afternoon and c) I was curious to see if any of you would have the guts to update song me. I'm a little upset that none of you did.

So, let's see what my fingers come up with when they get in touch with my brain and together they are an unstoppable blogging force.

Last night at the one80 leader's meeting there was a bit of talk using the phrase "what if". Alright, the full story is I said I wasn't going to do something because it's too close to when I want to go to America and then a "what if you don't go", "well what if I do go" type banter errupted.

It got me to thinking about some really ridiculous "what ifs".

What if we couldn't sneeze?
What if you had to go to university to get on tv at all? (we'd either erradicate reality tv, or make it worse like: "Survivor - Chemistry lab")
What if rollercoasters had laws of physics unto themselves?
What if governments had to go through as much red tape to change petrol prices as citizens go through to get a home loan?
What if we went back to the barter system?

These are just a few to ponder. Tell me about your best what ifs.

..and I'll have another update in half an hour...

There isn't really a whole lot to tell you all at the moment. Not without thinking for a couple of minutes.

I guess I could tell you that my application to go to America is in, and I should get told this week if I've been accepted into the program. So unless I am anorexic, haven't finished high school or turn out to be a convicted serial killer, I should be in. Therefore, I should be in. Then again my references might really hate me and tell them all sorts of nasty things about me that may or may not be true. Maybe I should have paid them more :P:P

Other than that I've just been working. I love my job as the stock administrator for Colorado at Garden City. I unpack an awful lot of boxes. I feel like it's Christmas every day. Santa's name is really Robert and he doesn't drive a sleigh, it's a Toll Ipec truck. I'm in charge of all the stock out the back. It is my kingdom and the stock never minds if I sing or talk to it. I just have to make sure people don't sneak up on me.

I'm looking forward to this weekend and all the one80ness that will be going on. Infiltration (dum, dum, dum!!!) is going to rock. Especially if I get a torch and get to scare all the students. Then on Saturday, Operation Coleslaw Supremecy is going to go off like last month's milk in the sun. I look forward to it all!

Well, I thinkit's time for me to listen to Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and that will inspire to go and clean more of my room.

Should you be lacking in ideas on what to comment on, tell me what you think of when you think of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, particularly the movement consisting of "Ode to Joy". Then tell me what you think of the fact that Beethoven was stone deaf.
