Pikachu I choose you!!

So here's the challenge. I've been thinking about how often people ask the question, "Do you know what?" and I'm curious to see what will happen if everyone replies, "Yes". Now don't get yourself hurt doing this. If your boss says, "Do you know what?" and it's one of those, "You had better know what" tones, don't say, "Yes" and get hurt, fired or killed. But I have a couple of hypotheses, so if you are game, ready, willing and/or able, go right ahead and then tell me you stories.

In the meantime, use the words galavant, stagnant and hypochondriac in a legible and coherent sentence.

...as close as practicable...

Well...(waits for Sean@ and Lisa to stop laughing), I see it is up to me once again to start the ball rolling on update topics for the blogging world's updates. Not even the official one80 site has an update on the *drum roll* STAYOVER! And what a night it was.

The evening began with a fantastic line up of talent, including the incomprehensible, 1.5 speed polka act courtesty of Frulletina and Charnstarette. The tapping game record stands once again at below 1 second (despite our growing numbers). Well done one and all. To all those who attempting the "Sitting in a circle and now Mike is going to try and make us walk" game, well done. I had fun. Then there was a select few who decided to play the "Dumb Ninja Game" while everyone else watched us and thought we were crazy. *BAZOOKA - I'm a moose!!*

Next came pizza and the beginning of a night long movie marathon. I supervised the group downstairs, and those who continued to visit us. Sean@ tried to tell us a story and I kept interrupting him ("He can't start it without saying, "well"). Around 3am Lerchy and Harry were downstairs, Harry tried to complete a "legible" sentence (he meant coherent) and Lerchy discovered that the sun rose in the west. Much to Sean@'s dismay, spiders are still leggy. Eventually everyone went to sleep (For like half an hour) and Frullet came down to scare us about 2 minutes after I woke up.

I went home in my pyjamas, dressing gown and slippers. And...squares.

Thanks for a great night guys!!

The Best Medicine

In 1962 there was an "outbreak of contagious laughter in Tanganyika. What began as an isolated fit of laughter (and sometimes crying) in a group of 12- to 18-year-old schoolgirls rapidly rose to epidemic proportions. Contagious laughter propagated from one individual to the next, eventually infecting adjacent communities. The epidemic was so severe that it required the closing of schools. It lasted for six months."

- Robert R Povine, American Scientist, 1996.

Can you imagine missing 6 months of school because you were laughing? How cool would that be? Do you have any idea how healthy you would be?

Laughing engages almost every major part of your body.

Laugher exercises your diaphragm. The diaphragm separates your chest cavity and your abdomen. When you laugh, it convulses and gives your organs a much-needed massage, stimulating circulation and enhancing general wellbeing.

When you laugh, your heart rate and blood pressure increase, dilating your cardiovascular system. When you stop, they decrease to below normal. Laughing ultimately lowers heart rate and blood pressure.

Laughing releases the body's natural opiates and pain reliever; beta-endorphins.

When you laugh, your head and your facial muscles move. These muscles are connected to your thymus gland, which in turn is responsible for your immune system. The more you laugh, the better your immune system.

Why don't we laugh enough? Kids laugh around 300 times a day, and adults, not even half that. You've probably heard that statistic before, but never really given it a second thought. I did some observing, and I realised that children laugh at anything that is funny. I know that sounds bleedingly obvious, but it's true. Adults only laugh if they know why they're laughing. Kids laugh at a word that sounds funny, adults won't do that because there is absolutely no reason behind why they are laughing. For kids, something is funny at face value. For adults, it's not funny until they have all the facts. No wonder it's easier for children to laugh. Kids also laugh at each other. That in turn makes it easier for kids to laugh at themselves. If someone's already laughing at you, you might as well join in. Find 3 resons to laugh before you go to bed. You'll feel better for it.

If you are sitting in this seat and cannot read this card...

Greetings folks! And what fine greetings they must be after my week long absence. I am glad to be back in Brisbane, but I do miss my "home", and all people associated with Sydney. I have missed all my one80 lovelies, and whilst I am in Brisbane I miss my Sydney buddies, and there is simply no way that they two worlds can completely come together. Unless everyone in Brisbane wants to move to Sydney. They have Max Brenner. Come on, you know you want to...

Anyways, a bonza week was had by all. Particularly me *does Andy Andrews' "Shackel Dance"*

The speakers were incredible and the tribal parties were a tonne of fun (FURY!!). Praise and Worship with Hillsong, United and Delirious? was really meaningful, the electives were great and I met so many new shiny and exciting people!! So everyone point to the basement, and everyone point to the bumblebee.

Of course, I can't go home and not talk about the food I ate whilst I was there. I went to Outback Steakhouse and ate tonnes of cheesy fries, and a I also got taken to Max Brenner (mmmm, chocolate) that you can check out at a www.maxbrenner.com.au, but you have to cry because there isn't one in the whole of Queensland.

I shared a room with a drum kit, took plenty of notes, watched copious rounds of Need for Speed Most Wanted or whatever it was and enjoyed a fan club that consisted of two Jack Russels. And I laughed a lot. But then again, what do you expect from me.

I look forward to seeing many of you soon and hope that you have all had great holidays and all is well. Commenting topic: Do you feel significant, lost or otherwise when in a crowd of 10 000s of people?
